Our friend and adventuress, Nina Griscom, is leaving on a fantastic African holiday led by the Africa Foundation and has asked us what to wear on safari. The mission of the Africa Foundation is to assist in the protection of Africa’s wilderness by empowering people living in or adjacent to protected areas by forging unique partnerships between conservation initiatives and communities. For more information, please visit AfricaFoundation.org.
With Safari on our minds we headed to Ralph Lauren in search of earthy tones and found quite the selection. We love it so much that we know these pieces will not only outfit you for your trip, yet will be worth the investment as will be perfect for fall attire as well.

What to Wear: The New Pearls as Statement Jewelry
Posted By: KK on 09/22/10 8:08 AM | Categories: What to Wear
Meet the “New Pearls” – not to be mistaken for the demure strands of the past, given to us by aunts, grannies and God Parents. Although we love and treasure them, it is time to modernize our pearl collection with these pieces that take the underwater gems to a whole new level and turn them into statement jewelry. Since ancient times, the pearl has been a symbol of unblemished perfection and as the oldest known gem have been worn for centuries for the flattering glow that they cast on those who wear them. These modern day equivalents add a little bling as well. Equally at home with a Little Black Dress for cocktails or with a Creamy Blouse and Black Pants for a chic evening look that can go anywhere from dinner to theater to art opening.
To view more “New Pearl” jewelry, please go to Bergdorf Goodman and search Pearl Jewelry.

What to Wear: What to Wear Evenings in Town
Posted By: KK on 09/21/10 2:09 PM | Categories: What to Wear
Ah, now that New York Fashion Week is over, we can catch our breath and turn our attention back to the here and now, what to wear, especially for evenings in town. We spotted this trend in the waning days of August and it has continued to be a popular pairing and fantastic transitional dressing– sleek black knit pants, either straight or with a slight flair and a soft, feminine blouses. Add a piece of jewelry from our “New Pearls” selections, and you have an outfit that can take you from a day at the office to the theater, an art opening or to out to dinner (we love the Tory Burch soft pleated blouse that all of her girls were wearing at the shop in the Meatpacking District on Fashion’s Night Out!) You could call these LBP’s or Little Black Pants, because they will be your “go-to” for the season. We chose these for their slim silhouette – no belt loops or pockets – a flattering shape to pair with any of these tops. And if you are wondering where to wear them, be sure to check out Jonathan Benno‘s gorgeous new restaurant, Lincoln in the new Lincoln Center. And if you are look for some great little black shoes to complete the outfit, please go to our Little Black Shoe selections.

Alexander Lee McQueen
17 March 1969 – 11 February 2010
The fashion world was shocked and saddened, when the news broke last February of legendary designer, Alexander McQueen‘s death. The announcement put a pall on fashionistas and artists everywhere to hear of such a loss just days before London Fashion Week. McQueen, whose career was marked with rebellion and innovation was much beloved by those in-the-know in fashion. British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman said: “He was the most brilliant designer of his generation and his influence can be seen in the way that women dressed over the last 15 years.” In his too-short life Alexander McQueen, or “Lee” as he was known to friends, was awarded the British Designer of the Year Award four times and was embraced by scores of celebrities and fans including the late iconic Isabella Blow, Sandra Bullock, Sarah Jessica Parker, Anna Wintour, Daphne Guinness, Rihanna and Lady Gaga.
In a fitting tribute, The British Fashion Council organized a memorial service at St. Paul’s Cathedral on Monday morning, September 20. May he rest in peace.

What to Wear: Celebrity Fashion – Nicole Kidman- Naeem Khan
Posted By: admin on 09/19/10 11:52 AM | Categories: What to Wear
We always look forward to Naeem Khan’s new collections and are especially excited for this years S/S 2011 NYFW show at Lincoln Center on September 16. His designs are truly a work of art and have been worn by such celebrities as Beyonce, Michelle Obama and Brooke Shields. His Indian heritage creates a detailed and exquisitely ethnic chic to his collections. W2WW thought that the statuesque Aussie actress, Nicole Kidman, would look perfect in one of Naheem’s pieces- especially when paired with his wife’s, Ranjana Khan, jewelry. We put together a look from his Autumn/Winter 2010 collection which would quite perfectly accentuate Kidman’s porcelain features.

What to Wear: Spring 2011 Favorite Trends
Posted By: admin on 09/17/10 7:12 PM | Categories: What to Wear
We have put together a New York Fashion Week Spring Trend Recap. It’s been an exciting week of new looks and trends that we’ve combined below. We loved the tangerine hues of Carolina Herrera and Tory Burch‘s lines and the crisp whites seen from J. Mendel‘s feminine dresses to Ralph Lauren‘s Western style. Chiffon and floral prints abounded and looked especially stunning on romantic Luca Luca dresses and Naeem Khan‘s exquisitely exotic line. We were huge fans of updated versions of classic black, either with lace or sheer overlays, belted bows and uneven hemlines, which makes your LBD anything but boring. Finally, in an ode to all the ladies who lunch, we found sleek and stylish daytime wear – Oscar de la Renta showed us the suit is always timeless and Milly made mixing patterns a cinch.
