Sports and Fitness: Tennis Trends at Wimbledon

We love watching Wimbledon Championships at the All England Club and spotting such trendy tennis stars such as Sharapova, the Williams sisters, Anna Kounrikova and even Hungary's Timea Babos.  When women first began to play tennis in the 1860s, heavy materials such as flannel and even wearing a bustle was deemed appropriate.  It was Maud Watson, who won the first Wimbledon Ladies' championship in 1884, who popularized the white tennis trend as it masked perspiration.  Wimbledon still request players to withstand this tradition.  Creating more subtle fashion moments such as the Spaghetti Strap Trend rather than at past championships, such as Venus' racy number at the French Open or even the pink trend at last years US Open.  We love this classic yet feminine look both on and off the court– here are our favorite looks of the season.  Can't get to the championships this year?  To listen live, check scores, watch videos of matches, or for a televised schedule, go to Wimbledon.org.
