What to Wear: Natalie Portman at the Oscars
Posted By: KK on 01/25/11 12:36 PM | Categories: What to Wear
The nominees for the upcoming 83rd Oscar Academy Awards have been announced today and it is no surprise that actress Natalie Portman is nominated for best actress in a leading role for the character, Nina Sayres, she so flawlessly portrayed in the film Black Swan. Director Darren Aronofsky (whom also picked up a nod for best director) reveals the rather ugly side of the dancing world as he takes us through both the physical and mental challenges a ballet dancer faces when Portman’s role is chosen as the lead in “Swan Lake.” At first glimpse one thinks that she is the almost too perfect pick to depict the delicate White Swan yet we soon realize she is loosing her mind as she becomes more and more like the Black Swan. Portman, has already won a Golden Globe for Best Actress for her performance and appears to be the academy favorite. The big question on our mind is, what should Natalie Portman wear to the Oscars? We did a bit of research on Portman’s previous red carpet looks and put together ensemble in a graceful blush hue and paired the look with crystal and pearl accessories. We cannot wait to see who the Academy votes for come Sunday, February 27. For further information please go to Oscar.com

Street Style & Videos: Plaza Hotel
Posted By: KK on 01/21/11 1:03 PM | Categories: Street Style & Videos
This week on Shop the Street Style, W2WW Fashion Editor Hilary Dick stopped at the legendary Plaza Hotel. We spotted quite the selection of handbags on some very stylish women and put together an assortment of our own. The Plaza is the perfect destination for dreary, rainy days in NYC, as The Plaza Boutique has the most wonderful selection of unique gifts, accessories and apparel, and even includes pieces from our favorite lines such as Hanley Mellon and Astrophel + Stella. We started our afternoon with a yummy lunch in the The Plaza Food Hall by Todd English, followed by a stroll through the luxury emporium, where boutiques such as Douglas Hannant and Seize sur Vingt display their creations in spacious surrounding. With all of the services and convenience, we felt like Eloise for the day and never wanted to leave! To find a listing of all of the shops and restaurants, visit The Plaza.

Posted By: KK on 01/19/11 10:11 AM | Categories: What to Wear
We get the question, “what to wear to a winter lunches” all the time. There are many lunches coming up this month and next and as much as we love dresses, when the thermostat dips below a certain point, it is so cozy to have a “go-to” suit. This Armani Collezioni suit from Bergdorf Goodman is a valuable investment in stylish dressing. It is truly a 3 season ensemble that can be dressed up or down to go from meetings, to winter lunches to a night out on the town. Whether a lunch meeting at the Four Seasons Grill Room, or a fancy affair in the Plaza Oak Room, or a dishing session with the girls at Swifty’s, this suit should be on your menu for dressing now and right into spring.
