What to Wear: Summer Whites

Posted By: KK on 05/24/11 2:48 PM | Categories: What to Wear

Finally (almost) summer and we all are wearing white again.  We tend to follow the Memorial Day to Labor Day rule of thumb for style – it makes it feel so special, and well worth the wait.  We love the crispness of all-white dressing, especially with a little tan.  We went shopping at SAKS.com to find our favorites of the season.  The DKNY embroidered top and pants create a look that can go anywhere, dressed up or down.   Until it gets a little warmer, why not travel with one of these great white summer jackets.  Cocktail party in town or country, zip up a Little White Dress LWD and feel that cool summer style coming on.

Book Club: Jamie Singleton A Standard Deviation

Posted By: KK on 05/24/11 8:04 AM | Categories: Book Club

Looking for a great read for Memorial Day?  How about a nail-biting political thriller – A Standard Deviation written by our clever friend, Jamie Singleton – a fast paced, action packed story about the manipulation of truth by some of the most commanding people on Wall Street and Washington, D.C.  It is a subject that Jamie knows well having spent most of his career among the rich and powerful.

Book Post

A Standard Deviation is Jamie’s first novel. Jamie has spent 27 years in the investment banking and private equity business. He graduated from Yale College and worked as an English teacher as well as a professional writer before getting his MBA from University of Chicago.  He is currently working on his second novel, Red Herring, which features FBI agent John Aichenhead, a key character in A Standard Deviation, as he pursues corporate fraud at the height of the tech bubble with dire national security implications.

What to Wear: Graduation

Posted By: KK on 05/18/11 11:57 AM | Categories: What to Wear

What to wear to a graduation? In town or country, here are some great outfits for the graduation guest.  We like a simple sheath dress of cotton.   It is classic look that will put you at the head of the class for all graduation ceremonies.  Remember to check the weather and plan accordingly.  But no matter the location, bring a wrap or cardigan for breezy shady spots, sunglasses, and a hat to protect you from the sun.  Flat sandals or wedges are easy to maneuver in, particularly in grass, and a roomy handbag is essential to fit camera, water, and program.ow-heeled shoes or wedges are stylish solutions for ceremonies on grass, and for the guest, don’t forget a hat, good sunscreen, sunglasses and a bottle of water, if held outdoors.  We had a great time shopping Kate Spade at Nordstorm for this great selection
